Picking the right glove

Gloves are sized by weight in ounces, not by hand size. Lighter gloves are quicker and suit bag and pad rounds; heavier gloves carry more padding and are what a gym will ask you to spar in, because the weight protects your partner as much as it protects you. If you are between two sizes, take the heavier one — the speed you lose is worth less than the hands you keep.

One pair can cover everything if you train a few times a week. Two pairs — a lighter bag glove and a heavier sparring glove — is what most people move to once they are training seriously. Ask us on WhatsApp which weights are on the wall before you come in, and see the full boxing range for wraps, guards and pads.

What weight boxing gloves should I buy?

It depends on your bodyweight and what you train — lighter for bags and pads, heavier for sparring. Message us your height and weight and we will size you at the counter.

Do I need one pair or two?

One pair covers most people training a few times a week. A separate lighter bag glove and heavier sparring glove is the usual next step.

Do I still need hand wraps?

Yes. Wraps support the small bones and the wrist, and they absorb the sweat that would otherwise sit in the glove lining.
