Boxing Equipment in Mauritius
Boxing gloves, head guards, focus mitts and bags, stocked at Nova Sports in Port Louis. Designed and made by Nova, not rebranded imports.
Choosing boxing equipment
Gloves are sized by weight, in ounces. Lighter gloves suit bag and pad work; heavier ones are meant for sparring, where protecting your partner matters as much as protecting your own hands. If you fall between two sizes, go heavier — you trade a little speed for a lot of safety. Ask us on WhatsApp which weights are on the wall this week, or see every pair on our boxing gloves page.
Starting out, you need three things: gloves, hand wraps to support the small bones in your hands, and a mouth guard. Our elastic hand wraps are Rs 400 for 3 m and Rs 450 for 5 m, in eight colours. A head guard becomes necessary once you start sparring. Tell us where you train and we will say honestly what you need now and what can wait. For lifting gear see the gym range, and our size guides cover fit. If you want the long version on sizing, we wrote a guide to choosing boxing gloves.
