Mouth guards, groin guards and arm pads that work across every discipline, stocked at Nova Sports in Port Louis.
The gear that decides whether you train next week
These are the cheapest items on the wall and the ones people skip, which is exactly backwards. A mouth guard is the difference between a hard sparring round and a dentist. A groin guard is not optional once you are throwing knees or taking body kicks. Arm pads let a coach hold pads for an hour without their forearms paying for it.
Mouth guards need boiling and moulding to your own teeth before first use — an unmoulded guard moves, and a guard that moves does not protect. Our guide to protective gear covers what each piece does and the point at which you actually need it. If you are not sure what your discipline requires, the boxing, MMA and karate ranges each list what clubs here usually ask for.
Protège-dents, coquilles et protections d'avant-bras à Maurice — disponibles au comptoir à Port Louis.
How do I fit a mouth guard?
Boil it, then bite and mould it to your own teeth before first use. An unmoulded guard shifts on impact and does not protect.
Do I need a groin guard?
For any discipline with knees or body kicks, yes. Most clubs will not let you spar without one.
What are arm pads for?
They let a coach or partner absorb strikes on the forearm through a long pad round without bruising.
Where do I collect my order?
