Knee Sleeves and Wrist Wraps in Mauritius
Knee sleeves, knee wraps, wrist wraps and elbow sleeves, stocked at Nova Sports in Port Louis.
Sleeves and wraps are not the same thing
A sleeve slides on and stays on. It keeps the joint warm, gives a little support out of the bottom of a squat, and you can wear it for a whole session without thinking about it. A wrap is pulled tight, does far more, and is uncomfortable enough that you put it on for a top set and take it off again. Buying a wrap when you wanted a sleeve is the most common mistake here, and it usually ends with an unused wrap in a gym bag.
Wrist wraps are a different joint and a different job: they stabilise the wrist under a loaded press so the bar sits stacked over the forearm instead of folding back. Elbow sleeves are mostly warmth for people who press often. If you are not sure which of these you actually need, message us on WhatsApp and describe the lift that is bothering you. Belts are in the lifting belt range, and the full gym range is on the same counter.
Knee sleeves or knee wraps?
Sleeves for warmth and mild support across a whole session. Wraps are far tighter, give more out of the hole, and are meant to go on for a heavy set and come straight off.
What do wrist wraps do?
They stabilise the wrist joint under a press so the bar stays stacked over your forearm rather than bending the wrist back.
Do I need knee sleeves to squat?
No. They add warmth and a little support out of the bottom, which many lifters prefer on heavy days, but they are not required to squat well.
