Getting the size right
Buy a gi slightly long. Cotton shrinks with washing, and a jacket whose sleeve ends at your wrist when new will be sitting well above it inside a month. Most dojos want the jacket sleeve to finish partway down the forearm and the trouser to clear the ankle — long enough to look correct in line, short enough not to catch under your own foot.
Kids grow faster than the gi shrinks, so a little extra length is worth more there than anywhere. Belts are sold separately, which means a grading does not mean replacing the whole uniform. How should a karate gi fit?

Yes. Message us your child's height on WhatsApp and we will advise at the counter — allow a little extra length for growth.
