Cotton lifting straps: a length of woven cotton with a loop at one end that you wrap around the bar. The cheapest and simplest fix for a grip that gives out before the working muscle does, and the first thing to buy once deadlifts start slipping out of your hands in Mauritius.
- Thick woven cotton webbing with a padded section where it crosses the wrist.
- Adjustable loop — you set how tight the wrist is as you thread it, unlike a closed figure-8.
- Stocked in colours; black, green and pink have all been in.
- Sold as a pair. Learn the wrap on a light set first, because a badly wrapped strap slips.
Figure-8 straps, hooks and grips are also in the gym range. Order online for delivery in Mauritius, or collect from our shop at 34 Remy Ollier Street, Port Louis.
